It DOES look like the beginning of one of the African marigolds. I
had something like this pop up in one of my indoor pots several years
ago and I swore it was going to be a marigold of some sort. However,
these turned out to be the juvenile leaves of one of the ornamental
Solanums - can't remember which one off the top of my head.
