Don is right on the button with Dictamus. Dictamus will have lemony secented
leaves and it is very slow to establish. It is a classy and superior plant
for every garden. There is a rosea form also. Both should be in the top ten
of all perennial garden plants.
But what you have is not Dictamus. Unless you bought a bushelbasket sized
plant, Dictamus will not reach the top of a chain link which is probably
around at least four feet. It tops out at around three feet and takes years
to do that. It does not strike a bell in my brain this afternoon but someone
here will do a better job for you, I am sure. BTW, alliums are not usually
in donation plant sales but plants that grow big and fast and generously are
so whatever you have keep an eye on it.
