Hi have this, but it was labeled Tovara 'Painter's Palette'. I also have
Tovara virginiana, and Tovara virginiana 'Vareigata' (three of each). All
three reseeded the first year, but very mildly maybe because they weren't
planted till late in the season. PP gave me the most babies. This summer,
the second for me, the PP has again produced the most babies, but not
crazy.
All three are in plain, unammended soil on the edge of the woods and
receive no direct sun. None of the plants have gotten very big, probably
because they haven't received any TLC. They only get watering from me
when they start to droop (our well is going dry). They are usually the
first things in my garden to droop. I'm thinking of trying the moisture
crystals with these.
The seedlings are easy to pull, or you can always cut off the "flower"
stalks to prevent reseeding.
