Re: Revisiting vinegar for weed control

I got some of the Greenergy Blackberry and Brush Blocker last year...a 20%
solution of vinegar which was effective when I used it on a gravel path.
Unfortunately, it cost about $50 a gallon! I hear cheaper brands can be
found. One thing, if you use it on a garden bed, you are then supposed to
have to add lime to the soil to resweeten it before you can plant. Also,
Dr. Elaine Ingham of ...oh no! I have forgotten her
webite!...soilfoodweb.com?....wrote a newsletter in which she expressed some
concern that soil biota would be killed by the Greenergy product...or
something like that...but Ann Lovejoy wrote a column or two in which she
theorized that the soil biota just go dormant and then return. Oh, and you
are not supposed to use it near water.
