Early bloomers

My best friend and I went shopping for daylilies on Sunday--opening weekend
of the NC Season, no limit. She kept saying, "We must never have been here
on opening weekend before, nothing in my yard is blooming yet. I need early
bloomers this year." We've been shopping at Holly Hill for six years;
seemed unlikely that we'd NEVER been on opening day before.
Came home and logged my latest bag in my daylily listing, and then made an
entry in the garden notebook only to see that last year, on June 9th, we'd
been and spent $400 between us.
Going to be one heck of a mid-season if these plants ever get going!
Mrs. Greenthumbs (Cassandra Danz) said that when you have a real color
blooper in a bed, just cut the offender and put it in a vase indoors.
No-one needs to know.
