Re: Garden Tips

Here's another idea for hoses. I grew so frustrated trying to wrap hoses around those plastic or metal hose hanger things. I went to the Home Depot and got two pieces of 1/2" galvanized pipe -- one about 4" long and one about 12" long. I screwed them both into a right elbow and put a cap on the end of the short pipe. That gave me a "L" shape.

I used long screws to attach a round, flat brackets into the fence upright, next to the spigot and then screwed the long end of the "L" into that. Tighten everything up and it makes a great hose hanger, I just drape the hose over it and I'm done!

It only took me 25 years to figure out - I drape my hoses (front, back and
side yard) over low shepherd crooks - and I recently discovered that they
don't twist and kink if I serpentine them over the crooks (right to left,
left to right, etc.), rather that loop them!
Hoses can be a pain to drag around and that's why I have 3 set-ups.

Now what other wonderful garden management and efficient working tips does
this hard-working group of gardeners have?
