Well, Gene, that is perplexing then.  I would also think that the
optimum time to transplant....agree about that weak root system.  

Either you aren't holding your mouth right or you have neglected some
ritual dance that is required to encourage these guys to
live...possibly they don't like your selections of radio music or
need a burnt offering of some sort....
