violets

My variegated violet is up on the hillside so I do not have the name but it
is not long lived either. It is seeding around and the foliage is
attractive. Some of the violets are like old friends--see them once a year.
Those violets not friends are probably the best kind. My woods would be
sad without the native violets. All things are relative, violets included.
