Hi Don,its Connie out in Idaho..
In answer to your ? re:
Cryptotaenia japonica yes,its edible I quote from Cornucopia by S.Facciola.
"Crtptotaenia japonica-Mitsuba,Japanese parsley,Japanese honeswort,Trefoil.
The leaves and blanched leafstalks are eaten raw in salads and sandwichs,boiled.fried.added to soups,or used in egg dishes, tempura, and as a garnish.Often dressed with ground sesame seeds or soy sauce.Roots can be blanched for five minutes, ten sauteed in sesame oil,or they can be boiled together with diced parsnips.Seeds are utilized as a seasoning.
Japan,cultivated."
BTW I used to grow exotic produce for restaurants and enjoyed expanding my knowledge of what is edible as well as ornamental.
P.S.the plant you send some time ago is still doing well.Sorry cant recall the name at the moment.Senior moment :-[ .
