I didn't want the asian varieties because they get much bigger and I've heard they often don't bloom well here. I've tried to check ultimate height but I've found various reports of 10ft, 20ft, 30ft. I assume it depends on the pruning. What I found at Monrovia's site was:
Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Feed regularly during the growing season with a general purpose fertilizer. Prune annually in late winter to promote vigorous new growth.

This is, of course, Wisteria frutescens 'Amethyst Falls', one of our nativewisterias. The cold winters seem to kill the flower buds of W. chinensis and so I finally had to cut mine down after only 1 decent flowering out of the 15 years I had it. (and the almost constant pruning was just about killing me!) Does W. frutescens require as much pruning?
