Re: name that plant


I think you have Gill over the ground (Glechoma hederacea).  I think it is
a nice groundcover....in the right conditions, of course.  If it is
invading the lawn, there is a way to kill it with an application of borax
in the fall.  You risk killing the grass, too, if you apply a bit too much
borax so I don't think I'd try that treatment around other plants.

Can anyone tell me the name for a perennial (weed?) that grows around here
in profusion?  It has leaves with scalloped edges, and blue flowers at this
time of the year (zone 5), it propogates by sending out "feelers", or
"shoots" (please excuse my ignorance), very like what wild strawberries do;

when crushed it gives off a rather harsh odor, one I imagine is offensive
to
insects.
