how about pulmonaria, mrs. moon and others, with the hostas and ferns?
and throw in some asarum, too. also, sweeps of prickly pear cactus and
yuccas, with various minor sedums and sempervivums loosed to roam the
dry bed. basically, generally, plants that have the same cultural needs
have a tendency to look good together.
