Re: the best climbing rose

Hi,

If you like a delicate pale pink, vigourous, repeat-flowering rose you may
try New Dawn. It is resistant to cryptogamic diseases and has a very
lovely, distinctely glossy, almost persistant foliage. Its flowers are quit
large, and it produces them generously. Only one minus point is the almost
complete lack of scent. Otherwise it is a beauty!

For scent I stronlgly recommend carmin red climbing rose "Roi de Siam" (the
King a Siam). But it may not be so ease to source it. It is repeat
flowering too. Still another one, possibly of the roses with the strongest
scents is the Bourbon rose "Mme Isaac Peeire".

If you like very vigourous roses (ramblers), able to colonize a tree,
producing thousands of small, simple roses, of a pale pink turning later
into white, you may like Francis E. Lester.

P. Christmann, near Orléans (France), home to many roses.
