We do like that coreopsis a lot. We're growing 'Zagreb' in another
spot--but here in MI that isn't in bloom til summer (which hasn't arrived
yet this year!)
The place I'm thinking about goes into shade about 1 in the afternoon. This
is near other fine-leaved plants (a blue aquilegia, grasses, peachleaf
bellfower, etc.) so we were hoping to find something with a mound of bolder
foliage. Another warm color, perhaps red, could work here too. . .
