There are a couple of things that can be done when blocking SPAM from an email list: Almost all list software these days restricts posting to only those subscribed to the list. >From there: 1) Most newer list software allows the option of forcing an email confirmation for every subscription to the list -- this will keep spammers from auto-joining, spamming, then quickly unsubscribing from the list. 2) Some list software will block or require list-owner authorization for emails which confirm to particular common SPAM structures -- "MAKE MONEY", etc. Beyond this there are a few other things (filtering, strict domain policies, etc) that one can do to block spammer access to one's email server before they even get far enough to post to a list there. Hope this helps, - AntiSpam TechSupport :) ------------------------------------------------------------------ Circle Net, Inc. --- global internet access http://www.circle.net ------------------------------------------------------------------ > ---------- > From: Robert Stine[SMTP:rstine@circle.net] > Sent: Sunday, June 22, 1997 7:03 PM > To: support > Subject: [Fwd: List Master Question..] > > <<Message: Re: List Master Question..>> > Dou you have any suggestions that may help this problem? >
