Last fall, I picked up about a dozen clematis plants very reasonably at the
end of the season I planted all. Two of them, adjacent to an arch, put
out healthy looking foliage and at about 1 foor, with blossom buds on them
the plant shrivveled and died. Both of them. Now another is doing the
same. Only that one is about two feet high. It is shrivveling and dying.
What should I do?
Also can anyone suggest pruning for : Jacmanii, Henryii, Mr. President,
Nelly Moser? My Henryii now in its 12th year, did not set forth many
flowers this year. Do I prune after bloom, in the spring ???? Unfortunately
clematis is complicated business. Can anyone sift this out forme? Many
thanks.
