Re: mulch


Pine trees will grow just fine without a mulch of needles.  If I raked
the needles from the pine trees into a neat pile under the drip line of
the trees, the pile of needles would soon be over my head.  I use pine
needles for winter mulch, and usually use the same needles for three or
more years.  They decompose very slowly.
