Re: worms


Hello Christine;
It sounds like you have a very serious infestation of Sod Web Worms 
and something you should be worried about since it can devastate your 
lawn.  It takes some fairly powerful chemicals and the right timing to
kill them so I would suggest you have your local spray service take a
look at it.  Here in the PNW we've had an unusually heavy infestation
the last couple years and have had to replace quite a few lawn.  I'm 
not sure that they would bother woody plants but my guess it that they
may go after the roots of the softer herbaceous plants.
