I really like the gardening primer by barbara damrosh.. and agree with the
Sunset Garden book idea. just a suggestion: for inspiration how about
katherine white's Onward and Upward In the Garden (recently reprinted in
paperback) or Eleanor Perenyi's Green Thoughts? or something by Henry
Mitchell?
