Hi Gerry,
I ordered new (to me) salvias this year but lost quite a few when we had a
hard frost on May 15th. I have S. Van Houttii, S. greggi "Cherry Chief",
S. gesneriflora, S. dorisiana, S. confertiflora 'Firebrand', S.
involucrata, S. uliginosa, S.haematodes, S. leucantha, S. guaranitica
'Purple Majesty', greggi -yellow, S. azurea grandiflora, S. superba 'May
Night', 'East Friesland', 'Snow Hill' & 'Blue Hill' & S. transylvanica
(grew from seed & will be blooming soon). Some of these appear dead but am
leaving them in hopes they will come from the root. I also ordered the
Unique 50 daylily asst. from White Flower Farm this year. They are unnamed
selections from hybridzers so its like buying a grab bag. They were all
very healthy, but not sure if they'll bloom this year. My daylilies got
off to a slow start ( yellowing of leaves) but are blooming like
gangbusters now.
