I decided that I would be a "real gardener" -- who probably keep a
journal. Doubt if that impresses the plants any -- or changes their
tendencies to thrive or die....
but...I keep a record on my computer. Have a Gardening Folder -- in
which I keep files for: Daily Gardening (actually a seasonal "calendar"
of what I am supposed to do and when); Gardener's Diary (a daily
(usually) of everything I do per date, what is blooming; what is
thriving, what I pruned, planted, fed...etc. Also add hints from this
email list -- thought I might be fun to compare yearly diaries..) also
have a Garden Plans file in which I list each individual bed and what I
have planted in them...
I suppose you could be as detailed or simplistic as you choose -- but
this requires very little time....
Also -- following the thread on mums. Thought I was the only person in
the world who couldn't make a mum survive. Years ago and the first time
I ever planted them -- they were show stoppers --- but never again, so
now I refuse to plant them...
