Don't feel bad, Jeanne.  As a novice gardener, I do things like that all
the time.  I grew seeds indoors from seed for the first time this year. 
Thought I'd have no problem remembering what they were, so I didn't label
them.  A few weeks later I was clueless as to what was what.

I have seedlings in my garden that I still don't know what they are.  I did
find out that the  African daisies I planted in my all pink/purple bed are
really bright orange tithonias.  Should make for an interesting sight when
they all bloom.

Oh well, I figure there are no failures in gardening, only experiments. 
Really, I think that's what makes it fun.
