The hardy geranium, evening primrose and poppy mallow have become a beautiful
mixed planting. Last night I noticed the poppy mallow are climbing up through
the snowberry bushes. I purchased the hardy geranium so many years ago, I
can't remember the name any more, but it is one of the sang. Varieties. It's
probably called something else now. I just love that stuff. The poppy mallow
originated in my husband's aunt's yard and I brought it back from Oklahoma at
least 15 years ago or more. Took three little stem cuttings. The geranium
looks more like a shrub now, but not as tall as the new 'Patricia,' which I
would love to get.
I had planted them around the edges thinking they would make good edging
plants, but they have really gotten too large for that. Still beautiful, wish
I had actually planned it that way.
