I found the poppy of my dreams right in my own back yard. I have no idea
where it came from and have never seen another like it. It is over my head
- 6 ft I would say, looks to be a Papaver somniferum. But the flowers are
such a dark purple they are almost black and not just double, but triple or
quadruple! I have several others in the same bed that haven't opened a
flower yet, so I don't know if this is the only one like it, but will sure
save seeds from this one! It has 3 flowers open, 6" across, and 4 more buds
swelling. I'm on my way to take pictures now..Marilyn
