I planted Rosemary 'Hill Hardy' last year, from Gilbertie's. In
midDecember, we had our only real snowstorm of the winter, and I went and
cut some for a hortitherapy (mixed greens into Christmas arrangements)
session my garden club does each year. They were in fine shape then and a
few days later. But the plant did not survive the winter. OTOH, the
snapdragons nearby survived and are blooming already, a real novelty for me!

It didn't do much last summer but is doing ok now. It gets only morning
sun and is protected from most winds - and we live in a very windy area.
I'm going to have to move it because a new walkway is going in. Which is
more important - sun exposure or shelter from wind? I thought it would
need more sun than it gets, but so far it's ok. I love rubbing my hands
on it when I walk by - smells great! Does anyone know just how hardy a
"hardy rosemary" is? TIA
