Cathy
I have many varieties of yarrow and have not found it to be invasive. I have
three large Achillea "moonshine"; Achillea 'Rodney's Choice', Achillea
millefolium cv Rose (which they say can be invasive, haven't had that problem
yet) and another Achillea that I can't remember the name of! The markers are
hidden under the plants!
The only way you will know is if you experiement.
It doesn't matter if you're an old gardener or new gardener..there is always
something to learn. And I agree with you, more plants, less grass! I will be
dreaming of new projects this fall and winter.
Zones....Connecticut is made up of 6a, 6 and 5. I consider myself in zone 6
as I am in the central part of CT. In the northern part of CT many people
consider it a zone 5 (as Massachusetts). Don't let it worry you to much. I
bought an Agastache that is for zone 7 and it survived the winter and is ready
to flower...
