Hi Janice, Jaime, Nan, Ginny and Anne,
Thank you for the Patrinia information, I have put it on my "most
wanted" list. The Anthriscus is a hot item around here, the type that
causes usually "sane" gardeners to stampede. I bought mine last year from
Northwest Garden Nursery, 86813 Central Rd., Eugene, Oregon 97402. I don't
know if they have a catalog. Their phone is 541-935-3915. What they told
me about the history of the plant is that it is a naturally occuring sport
of an Anthriscus that is used as a hedgerow plant in England and was found
by a nurserywoman whose name is Raven. There is another form that is
supposed to hit the market in the near future. I am collecting seed from my
second year blooms but don't know if it will come true. If you like deep
purple foliage, take a look at Cimicifuga 'Brunette' (for shade, new and
expensive) and Euphorbia 'Chameleon'(part shade/sun, fairly new, not
expensive) Marilyn
