Everything Ann B. says is true for me too. One caveat -- watch for
heaving in the winter & early spring. I lost one this spring due to
heaving (the frost & thaw cycles push the crown & roots out of the
ground, so you need to make sure they're firmly in place in the fall and
then check on nice winter & spring days that they haven't worked loose.
I just press them back down and it worked for all but that one.)
