My heucharas are in sun, part shade and shade. All are in heavy clay
amended with compost where I can and the the soil here is from neutral
to alkaline. So it is pretty versatile. I would say if it is sandy or
light soil, I would keep to the shade or part shade. And if your ph is
acid, throw in a little lime.
