Hello! This is my first posting to this list. For several seasons now I
have had very poor flowering from my phlox--supposedly a good old standard
plant that anyone should be able to grow! The plants start up well in the
spring, green and healthy, and then, say in early June, just as they
approach budding size, they start turning a golden yellow color, the lower
leaves begin to die, the top becomes twisted and stops growing. The
stronger stems will sometimes overcome the problem enough to produce some
flowers later on, but many do not bloom at all and in any case they look
bad with their yellowed foliage. Advice, please? Thanks in advance.
