Re: Calimancy???

Hi, Nan,

You mean calamondins. I used to live in the Phillipines and they're
eaten a lot there but I'm pretty sure they're also grown in Florida
and maybe in California. I don't know about seed but I remembered
seeing plants listed in the Logee's catalogue since I'd like to have
one. They're $6.50 each and here's what they have to say:

"Citrus x citrofortunella mitis. "Calamondin" or "Panama Orange".
An abundant producer of tiny, fragrant flowers followed by small
round orange fruit. Often grown as an ornamental due to its fine
holding quality."

Height is 1-3' and they can be grown indoors. The bad news: the
catalogue says CITRUS CANNOT BE SHIPPED TO CALIFORNIA.
But since you're in California, a citrus producing state, I'd think
you'd be able to buy it there.

Other interested parties can go to www.logees.com -- you can request
a free catalogue there. They have lots of great plants. Nan, maybe
if you e-mail them they can tell you a California supplier.
