"sold to me as"

Late last summer I ordered about 25 plants, mostly asters, from Carrol
Gardens, when my elder daughter was planning to be married in my garden.
Half the order was very carefully packed and labeled and the other half a
shambles, most without labels. When I placed the order one person was a
sweetheart and very helpful, and the other was _not_. They didn't have a
computerized inventory or pricing terminal, and I never did find out the
cost until after I had the plants, and the charge hit my card. And all of
the plants of 2 or 3 varieties died over the winter. (Some of the rest are
at least strang, but most are doing well...must have been from the good half
of the order.)
I couldn't see what I would say to an outfit like that that I wouldn't
regret, so I haven't bothered. Carrol Gardens seems to suffer from a split
personality disorder! If I had been dealing with Bluestone, I certainly
would have called, but then they have their act together to begin with.

>Me, too. What do you all do when this happens? Call, write, complain?
>I always find the blooming season so busy that I just keeping putting it
>off until a complaint would sound silly, coming months (sometimes years)
>later. I'd be interested in hearing experiences on this issue.
