I second the black gold thoughts! My DH made me a beautiful compost bin
last Mother's Day (is he a god or what?) that breaks down like tinker
toys. If I need to turn it after adding a lot of waste, I can take as
many courses off as needed, mix it up, and just slip the boards back in
the slots. There is about and inch and a half of air space between each
course. It's beautiful.
He got the plan from an issue of The Family Handyman magazine.
