Re: Anyone growing these??? HELP

Hello,
On Gentiana asclepiadea, or the Willow Gentian, they should germinate for
you this spring if you planted them last fall. This Gentian will reach
three feet or more when mature if given a good humus rich soil with
moisture. It is often found growing along stream banks in Europe where it
is native. You should be seeing narrow matte green leaves soon if not
already. Blooms are trumpet shaped with a nice blue with darker colored
veins.
Erinus alpinus, "alpine balsam" reaches about 4" so it is a favorite of
Alpine gardeners. You should be able to find plenty of information on this
one at the Alpine-L web site. Do not grow it personally.
Saxifraga stolonifera, or Strawberry Begonia AKA Mother of Thousands is a
great ground cover and perfectly hard and easy to grow here. Reasonable
soil, some shade and adequate moisture. For a great effect in the garden
grow it among large upright ferns. When the delicate white blooms cover the
silvery leaves with the upright rather coarse leaves of the ferns ... nice
and so delicate a sight......
