SHASTA DAISIES
Jeanne, I don't want to rain on your parade, but I too have shasta
daisies blooming. they started about 2 weeks ago and it seemed to take
forever for the buds to bloom. Is this normal? this is my first year
for them. I have some other kind of daisy, but at the moment can't
recall the name. the bloom on those are smaller than the Shasta's, but
just as pretty. these spread everywhere as in a root system. I have
divided several times and have them in every flower bed. I usually
plant them with the yellow and pink coreopsis.
I like the Shastas better, I guess because the blooms are larger.
imagine this .......I have a pink rose bush, white daisy, yellow
coreopsis, blue siberian iris, yellow daylilie, and yellow iris in a
medium size bed. the rose bush starts blooming early then the S. iris
and iris, then the daisies and coreopsis and the day lilies, so I have
blooms for a long period of time.
happy gardening
