Jeanne-
I hate to say this but it is time for you to find another nursery. I have
had this problem a few times but less often than you. Mine usually occurs
when I attend a special sale at the arboretum and/or one put on my the
Houston Hort Assoc.. I am a bit forgiving of this because I know that the
plants are transported in from various nurseries and some tags could get a
little messed up during this process (this is all done by volunteers). Or
the simply fact that someone shopping for a plant picked up the tag, read it,
then put it into the wrong plant. I know it is frustrating, especially if
you are a "planner".
When I started gardening 3-4 years ago I was a planner...then I started
liking too many plants so now I have what I refer to as my Texas Cottage
Garden.
Are you happy with what is blooming? One way to tell your foxglove seedlings
for a pink/purple is to look under the leaves for some sign of pink in the
veining. If the pink is present---you will get a foxglove that is not white
but pink or purplish.
BTW----I'm going crazy trying to figure out what my so-called Salvia hians
is. I think I'm going to have my husband borrow his buddy's digital camera
and see if I can put a picture on the list.....someone out there may
recognize it. I think a digital camera is what I'm going to ask for for
Christmas...that and the Salvia book. And I guess if I don't get it there
always that gift to myself that I just might have to buy.
Happy Gardening
