I too have traded out my spring annuals for summer annuals......snaps that
were planted last fall have gone to seed and died and have now been replace
with impatiens. The foxgloves, delphiniums, and larkspur have seeded and
have been pulled free to make room for the up and coming pink coneflowers,
veronica, wild ageraturn, brazillion bach button and hamilias. The butterfly
weed, Irish Eyes rudbeckias, and salvia's are in all of their glory. The
daylilies have all nearly finished with their show and the clerodendrums
ugandense and bungei buds are beginning to open fully to say hello to summer.
The brugmansias that are nearly 10 foot tall are just finishing with their
second flush of blooms as has the vitex.
In the shade the toadlilies are in all their glory as are the jacabinas and
caladiums. Some of the gingers are leafing out nicely only to be followed by
continuous blooms in about two weeks.
People around here are complaining about all the heat------it's here but I
like it too----all my heat loving "showing" plants are putting on a show and
I like to be out there with them....I give them a little drink then myself.
Happy Gardening Everyone
