Yes, your Hydrangea 'Annabelle' will certainly make good cut flower if you
give the stems a good 'conditioning' before arranging. However, as far as I
am aware, it flowers on 2nd year wood so pruning it won't make any
difference to this year's flowering but if it produces more shoots then it
should help next year's display. I find that because of the size of flower
the stems often cannot support them properly. It makes it a real nuisance
when you are trying to sell them! But Oh! how beautiful they look.
