I have a marvelous rose asclepias (milkweed) in my garden that concerns
me a bit. It's getting set to bloom, and the lower leaves are turning a
dark purple-almost-black on the top side only. It almost looks like
sunburn - but the upper leaves are unaffected - so far.
I just ran out to have another look and noticed that the stems are also
turning this color( at the bottom)!! We've had a great deal of rain
this spring (something like 6 inches above normal) and I'm wondering if
this is a type of rust or mildew or something. It doesn't rub off,
there are no holes in the leaves, and the plant looks quite robust.
Am I making mildew out of a molehill??? <grin>
