Re: Daylilies
Tracy
the variety that you are speaking of, I'm pretty sure they are the
ones that grow so readly in this area. you will see them on the banks
of the highway and especially at old southern homes. my
brother-in-law gave me several of them 10 or 12 years ago and once you
have them it's hard to get rid of them.. the ones I have has 3 to 4
layers to each bloom.
They are very pretty, but the orange is a little much, when you have
so many of them. I have given them away and in the spring I took some
and planted them at the end of our street. I noticed today that they
are blooming and look quite nice with all the weeds growing there.
kind of gives it a little color. it's not unusual to drive down
the highway or on country roads and see them blooming on the banks.
some of them are a single bloom and some of them are double and triple
blooms. I wonder if people have just thrown them out trying to get
rid of them.
