Gene, I think you are right as usual. I have only seen this plant from my
car and always mean to get out and take a closer look, but haven't yet. But
in my Wildflowers of Ohio by Robert L. Henn, the picture of Birdfoot Trefoil
could certainly be what I am seeing. I also notice a lot of it along Route
31 going north from Indianapolis.
