I was also surprised at all the negative feedback on chocolate cosmos.  I
have had a plant for about 6 or 7 years that blooms every year.  The plant
didn't do much the first year or two, but did bloom.  Over the years, the
clump has gotten a little bigger and put on more bloom.  It comes up a
little late in the spring in this climate, but certainly does earn its keep.
