Just reading all the posts after the weekend. Gene, thanks for your
comments. I was talking about the Crinum, not Cardiocrinum -- the Giant
Lily. Several others had some excellent information information for me
about them. Thanks!

Hello Mea,
Don't know how much help I can be on this one. An email friend send me a
box
of seeds from Crinum last year. I potted them up and they seem to all be
doing
fine thus far out in the cold frames. My intent was to grow them on for
couple
more years before placing them in the catalog. Incidentally, the "seeds" on
these
babies is as big as many lilium bulbs. My friend is from Kansas City, so the
strain/ species I have is totally hardy. Just we are not 100% sure of the
species,
cultivar we are playing with. My intent is to place them in deep soil in
open
shade in the next year or so.
Just to be sure we are on the same wave-length here... are we talking
Cardiocrinum , the Giant Lily, or the Crinum? I am talking about the
Cardiocrinum.
I am told the Crinum will not make it over wither in the open garden here.
Have I just muddied the waters some more?
