Yeah, right! I don't think I'll be planting ANY more yarrow any time soon.
And I'm keeping a very suspicious eye on the achillea (millefolium?)
'paprika' that I put out in another bed last year!
I guess what I'll do is keep an eye on the new bed, and if I can't keep that
little sucker under control, I'll dig up what I want to keep and clean it
out thoroughly. Some of the perennials I planted (intentionally) haven't
come up yet, I hope I didn't kill them all. And there's a gardenia and a
bunch of daffodils that I'd just as soon not be digging up right now.
Thanks for the advice, and for reminding me I'm not the only one out there
making stupid mistakes.
On a lighter note: in bloom now are my winter pansies (looking especially
nice, I think) siberian iris, daffodils, hyacinths, saucer magnoia,
loropetalum is just beginning to bloom, and I noticed a bearded iris in
bloom yesterday. It's about time for that final freeze, since the
magnolia's in bloom and my bletilla is all up and budded. Usually I lose
both due to "winter's last hurrah".
