Re: What's in bloom
Hi all,
We are having a crazy spring, even for us. Tomorrow the high may reach
80! I was surprised to see that I have 2 irises in bloom. Both are
miniatures and bloom earlier than the tall bearded ones, but still I was
surprised. One of them is BABY BLESSED and the other is THE BRIDE first
hybridized in 1901--one of the many historic cultivars that I planted last
summer.
My husband and I are planning to landscape more of our backyard and add
a pond with somr sort of falling water feature. We are trying to come up
with trees and shrubs at the moment. If anyone knows of any good design
sites, water garden sites, etc. please let me know. I am feeling excited
but a little overwhelmed at the moment. The area is about 45'x20' in a
figure 8 shape. Part of the area with get hot afternoon sun while the other
end will be under a large oak tree and get more shade in the afternoon.
Thanks and happy gardening,
Lynn Lamb
