I think if there's one thing to be learned from the recent thread on this
list, it's that commercial landscapers and hobbyist gardeners have
different, sometimes even conflicting, criteria for the plants we select.
"Hardy" is all well and good, but most hobbyist gardeners aren't necessarily
looking at a plant simply because it can be planted at the corner gas
station and left to its own devices.  Hence 'Stella' isn't as popular with
gardeners as it is with landscapers.  The reverse would also be true:
'Hyperion' would be ill-used and under-appreciated if planted en masse
around a shopping mall parking lot.
