Daylilies


Poor Stella is getting beat up here, but I agree with those posters
who've pointed out that a good performer will be used, or overused, in
professional landscapes.

But what about the daylilies you all love?  Green Flutter, for instance,
is a phenomenal bloomer here, great lemon yellow with a little green,
flower not too large, about 28-30 inches high; Illini Jackpot is a tall,
large deep red, showstopping.  Star Dream, Alice in Wonderland, Gentle
Shepherd, Yellowstone, too many to mention, many fragrant.  We have 
daylilies in bloom from May to October (not counting Stella) and I 
wouldn't want to give up one of them.  They are great "mixers" in
perennial beds & borders.  I've also noticed how everyone loves and
grows Hyperion, but no one talks about how common it is...!

There is a daylily list, but it's not as active as this one, so I post
this here.
