The answer to the first part is YES. I did the same thing you did. Bought a
can of wildflower seeds and the yarrow took over. Last spring I pulled and
pulled and dug and dug. Thought I had gotten it all and replanted with the
seeds in the mulch stuff by Scotts. I had bits and pieces of yarrow still
popping up until fall. I think you have to stay on top of it and just pull
any achillea that you see. Good luck and let me tell you I am staying away
from all mixes that contain the common yarrow :)
