RE: rooting cuttings

Re: Rooting cuttings in water. I was told this also in a Propagation class
I took years ago at Southern Illinois University. Roots that form in water
are adapted to water and very brittle and break easily which makes them
difficult to later transplant into soil. I usually root in water in a Dixie
or Styrofoam cup with lots of holes in the bottom in a glass of water, then
add soil little by little as roots form - eventually removing the cup from
the water to drain.
