Oh Duncan - you are so brave. I had a hard time leaving my old garden
(over a year & a half ago). Glad to get rid of the house and the
neighbors, but the gardens were gorgeous - even won a beautification
award from the Mayor. I drove by a few weeks ago (just to see it again)
and it's GONE!! All those gorgeous perennials and roses and flowering
shrubs and EVERYTHING - GONE. It's one solid mass of grass - front to
back.
I almost cried. I'm glad I dug the best of them, and took cuttings from
everything else. Its now lives on at my new residence!
For those of you in zone 5 - when do you prune back your buddleia
bushes? I have four of them that are showing new growth at the crown,
and wonder if it's too early to prune them? I usually cut them back to
12" or so in spring, but our winters and springs are so messed up
recently, I don't remember if it's too early or not.
Can anyone help?
